Dueling Pianos

This is projection mapping project I made with a classmate in TouchDesigner our junior year of college that takes input from two midi keyboards. When both keyboards play the same note, particles radiate where the notes overlap on screen. One of the biggest hurtles was figuring out how to get the notes to line up. Having two keyboards facing each other means that the high notes on one were across from the low notes on the other. Because we wanted the notes to overlap only when the same notes are pressed, we opted to have the notes flip when the reach the center of the screen. This project was very popular at our student expo and helped us both land an internship at LightBorne Communications.
